DVD Menu Analysis - Kill Bill Vol. 1

It has a very simple layout with all 4 buttons on the right hand side & 3 clips from the film on the left. It also overlays it with a song from the soundtrack & loops every 30 seconds.

What I like about this DVD Menu, is that it is very simple, easy to navigate & the styling of the menu adds to visual effect.

When you play the film, a bullet is loaded into a gun and fired into the viewers directions, which makes it look more interactive with the audience.

It has got all the basic button features of a DVD menu.
Play Movie
Set Up
Scene Selection
Special Features

When you press the ‘Special Features ‘ button, it goes to a Sub Menu with a list of extra content including Trailers of the film & the Teaser trailer to Vol. 2 Kill Bill film. It also has a 20 minute ‘Making of’ feature showing the audience how it was made. There is also 2 live performances of The 5 6 7 8’s, a band that featured in the film & also credited on Vol. 1’s soundtrack.

The clips shown in the main menu, are only the Japanese Animation Sequences from the film. I think that this adds the excitement of the film & urges the viewer to ‘Play Movie’
